A Spanish sustainable fashion brand seeks support to be 100% ecological

A company from Spain wants to sell 100% ecological T-shirts with unique designs. In order to achieve this ethical objective, they have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Verkami to obtain the necessary funding to carry it out. POLP does not have a physical store, all their products can be found online. The two entrepreneurs want to raise awareness on the importance of protecting the environment.

Xàbia can become if properly promoted, Spain’s cradle of entrepreneurship and creativity. There are many local companies that are making an extra effort to adapt to the new times and the new tools that are emerging. There are also many new business options that are emerging from the initiative of young people in the municipality.

The latter are being very interesting because, far from seeming extravagant or futuristic (archetypes associated with young entrepreneurship), are using the latest concepts and market values to bet on the recovery of indigenous products that have forged the local collective identity or that prioritize sustainability and respect for the environment when conceiving and designing your product.

This ecological philosophy is the one that seeks to implement, at all levels, the local design brand of POLP T-shirts and sweatshirts. Created by Román Cholbi, from Xàbia, and Andrea Llopis from Xirivella, it arises from Román’s passion for design and illustration and Andrea’s skill and dexterity with craftsmanship and photography.

They do not have a physical store. As for so many other young people in the municipality, paying the rent and maintenance of premises in Xàbia is a feat that must be meditated upon and agreed upon very well. That is why, using the latest digital tools, they have made the Internet their great showcase through their online store and social networks.

Through their brand, they intend to create “a community of people committed to social causes, the environment, art, equality and who seek to launch a message to the world through their clothes.”

T-shirts reflect the creativity of the two entrepreneurs

Little by little, they have managed to translate these values into an original and unique product that is specially created by both from start to finish.

Their designs are based on the illustrations made by Román, which reflect his creativity, concern for the environment, and fantastic dreams, in friendly and pleasant proposals that contain a much deeper message than the one that can be seen at first glance.

Then, Andrea is in charge of printing by hand each of his designs on the fabric of his T-shirts and sweatshirts with ecological inks without resorting to machinery or chemicals. They are accompanied by a label made of natural cork and a recycled and waterproof cardboard packaging whose reuse as a pot or for storage -among other options- motivates them.

The two entrepreneurs launched a crowdfunding campaign

Now, both of them want to go one step further and continue their efforts to reduce POLP’s ecological footprint and to continue their commitment to sustainable fashion by launching a collection, approved and certified, of organic and recycled T-shirts and sweatshirts. In order to achieve this ethical objective, they have launched a crowdfunding campaign on Verkami to obtain the necessary funding to carry it out.

This campaign has different collaboration options starting at $5.8 (€5) and, each one of them, has a different reward associated with it that includes prints of the brand’s designs and their explanations, fabric bags, organic cotton t-shirts and sweatshirts or surprises and discounts; depending on how generous the contribution is. This gratitude for joining the sustainable project of POLP will only be available for the duration of the collection that ends on October 25th.

Without a doubt, the municipality is going through a very interesting and hopeful moment in which, every day, new proposals are known that say a lot about the local youth and the social and economic future to which Xàbia can go. Encouraging and supporting this type of initiative is fundamental.
