Countdown to the deadline for applications to participate in the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator (ends April 5th) aimed at all sustainability-focused startups in Europe and the United Kingdom . In its third edition, the program will be carried out in collaboration with the EIT Climate-KIC, Europe’s leading center for climate change innovation, and the strategy and innovation consultancy, Founders Intelligence , which belongs to Accenture.

As the main novelty, this year the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator expands its scope , offering four different registration categories: Consumer Products, Circular Economy, Energy in Buildings and Packaging. This expansion is a reflection of the growth that the ecosystem of startups committed to sustainability is experiencing .

The deadline for the second call, focused on consumer products, will be July 31, 2024, and successful candidates will be announced in the fall.

Spanish companies participating in the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator 2023 edition

The Amazon Sustainability Accelerator program aims to help entrepreneurs grow their businesses and make a positive impact on the environment. Since its launch in 2022, the accelerator has supported more than 25 startups in Europe and the United Kingdom, including two Spanish ones; has provided over a million dollars in grants and credits, and has helped these businesses increase their sales by 700% and raise over €18.7 million to date.

Infinite Athletic, a Spanish company dedicated to the manufacture of 100% recyclable high-performance tennis clothing from reused racquet strings, was one of the startups selected to participate in the 2023 edition and has recently completed the production of its latest collection . The company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation was reinforced by its participation in the program.

Its co-founder, François Devy, highlights the valuable knowledge acquired thanks to the accelerator, which not only helped refine Infinite Athletic’s communication strategies, including a marketing collaboration with a major tennis brand, but also facilitated its rapid expansion in different countries. Thanks to process optimization and a precise approach, the company has managed to successfully position itself among certain demographic groups and consolidate its presence worldwide.

FUNQ’, a soft drink company based in Spain and Germany, also participated in the Amazon Sustainability Accelerator in 2023. After passing through the program, the company managed to introduce its range of beverages in 1,600 stores of the main retail chain in Germany (Rossman ), and raise around 2 million euros in financing.
