Avalanche (AVAX) recently made a name for itself with a blackout of the network and a strange initiative for meme coins. But now Avalanche is finally delivering positive news again with technological developments.

The activation of a feature called Teleporter in the Avalanche ecosystem is announced in a blog post . AVAX then recorded a daily increase of 4 percent.

With Teleporter, the Avalanche concept of subnets is intended to be noticeably improved

Since spring 2022, Avalanche has made it quite easy to set up blockchains as subnets, which usually serve a specific application. They have a common interface in Avalanche’s C-Net and with the introduction of Avalanche Warp Messaging (AWM) at the end of 2022, the possibility of interaction between the subnets was created. Teleporter now builds on this and allows all kinds of data exchange between Avalanche subnets and to the C-Net. Examples of this include subnet tokens, NFTs and price information.

In practice, users of the ecosystem can, for example, simply take NFTs from one blockchain game to another in the ecosystem or seamlessly move investments from one application to another in the decentralized finance (DeFi) sector. Avalanche co-founder Emin Gün Sirer celebrates Teleporter as a new cornerstone and sees the feature as a point that suits developers and crypto projects in the ecosystem and could attract new ones.

Avalanche has been trying to break away from the image as a DeFi-only ecosystem for some time. In the NFT sector and especially in blockchain gaming, there are successes that are reflected in increasing user numbers . However, the expansion of the ecosystem with repeated, multi-million dollar initiative programs like Vista also costs Avalanche a lot.

Conclusion: Avalanche ecosystem should become a universal solution

Avalanche’s previous ambitions to become an “Ethereum killer” or at least to compete with Solana (SOL) are probably off the table. In the DeFi sector, these layer 1s are far ahead. Avalanche is now looking for promising ways to make its ecosystem multifunctional with strong subnets.

Teleporter is the logical further development of Avalanche Warp Messaging and the naming of the features, which is based on Star Trek, sets a direction. It remains to be seen whether AVAX can benefit sustainably from these further developments.
