A crowdfunding campaign has been launched on Produzioni dal Basso, to raise the funds needed to transform a building confiscated from drug trafficking into a solidarity shop, called Casa de la Paz.

The aim of the collection is to complete the renovation, pay off old liabilities and equip the spaces.

Depending on the amount of donations, there are also rewards, such as a limited edition bag/backpack for those who donate 30 euros or a book that testifies to the first social transformation project carried out by former FARC fighters for those who donate 50 euros.

Anyone who donates 150 euros will see their name engraved on a plaque inside the Casa de la Paz.

The Casa de la Paz Project

The Casa de la PAZ project comes to life in the heart of Cali, Colombia, as a symbolic space of reconciliation, culture and dignified work, which unites former FARC combatants, local communities and Italian entities of international cooperation.

Casa de la Paz will market more than 40 products made by peace cooperatives and open a social café serving coffee grown by former peace fighters converted to peace.

But it will also offer an event space for cultural and social initiatives, shared offices for rural cooperatives and a training laboratory to promote the social and sustainable economy.

The support of the Nocello Cooperative and other partners

The project for Casa de la Paz is supported in Italy by the Cooperativa Nocello, a social cooperative active in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Eastern Veneto , with a long experience in international cooperation projects in countries such as Colombia, Morocco, Spain, Montenegro, Turkey and Argentina.

Together with Fondazione Messina , NCO Cooperativa Sociale Agropoli and the Colombian partner De Mano en Mano, the goal is to make Casa de la PAZ a beacon for bottom-up transformation, enhancing the reuse of assets confiscated from the mafia and building models of community, generative and solidarity economy.

The project also includes a financial contribution from the Microfinance and Crowdfunding Fund of Etica Sgr and Banca Etica.

“Casa de la PAZ is much more than a building: it is concrete proof that peace is built with work, dignity and collective participation,” declare the promoters of the project.
