The 4th Edition of the Civic Crowdfunding of the Municipality of Venice Is Underway
The Municipality of Venice’s fourth Civic Crowdfunding campaign supports social inclusion and community cohesion projects. Co-funded by the European Social Fund, it targets youth, vulnerable populations, and community hubs. Up to 8 projects, with budgets between €15,000–€30,000, will receive crowdfunding training and matching funds if campaigns raise 50% of their goal.

Venice Civic Crowdfunding 4th edition
The fourth edition of Civic Crowdfunding promoted by the Municipality of Venice is underway , which aims to select and co-finance projects that promote social inclusion and community cohesion through crowdfunding.
The goal is to strengthen networks of local organizations and support the most fragile areas of the city.
The project
The civic crowdfunding initiative is part of the “La città SIcura di sé” program, co-financed by the European Social Fund as part of the POC Metro, which aims to support innovative and sustainable projects for the territory.
The projects will be able to range across three main areas: young people and adolescents, to help them discover and cultivate new skills; support for vulnerable people and their families, with particular attention to the elderly and people with disabilities; enhancement of youth centers, promoting their role in the community.
“This is an important evolution of the experimental model launched in recent years by the Municipality of Venice, which is now characterized by a significant increase in the budget and the identification of specific areas of intervention – explains the Councilor for Social Cohesion Simone Venturini – Past editions have confirmed that investing in innovation and the social economy represents an indispensable asset for the real valorization of the city’s third sector.”
How the civic crowdfunding works
Up to 8 projects will be selected for the civic crowdfunding innitiative, each lasting a maximum of 8 months and with a budget between 15,000 and 30,000 euros.
Participants must be constituted by groups to be formed and which are composed of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 organizations of the following legal forms:
Third Sector Entities (ETS) pursuant to Legislative Decree 117/2017;
other non-profit associations/entities registered in the register of associations of the Municipality of Venice;
micro-enterprises registered in the Business Register (for example artisans or traders).
To better face the fundraising phase and learn the best strategies, the selected third sector associations will receive specific tutoring on crowdfunding from Produzioni Dal Basso, together with thematic moments during the month of January.
Organizations will then be able to upload presentations of their project ideas to the Produzioni Dal Basso platform to promote them to citizens. If the campaigns manage to cover at least 50% of the costs through donations, the Municipality will contribute the remaining amount.
Applications for the civic crowdfunding of Venice can be submitted by February 10, 2025 through the DIME online portal, using a SPID account.
