Córdoba Biotech Seeks Entrepreneurs to Promote a Hub Focused on Biotech Projects

Córdoba Biotech Incubator specializes in biotechnology, offering three types of incubation: physical with labs, coworking, and virtual. It supports startups through tailored programs based on project maturity—validation, MVP development, and growth. Located in Córdoba’s Science and Technology Park, it provides non-reimbursable grants, expert mentoring, and a conducive environment for biotech innovation and entrepreneurship.

Promoted by the Municipal Institute for Economic Development and Employment of the City Council of Córdoba (IMDEEC), the University of Córdoba (UCO) and the Foundation for Biomedical Research of Córdoba (FIBICO), the new High Technology Incubator Córdoba Biotech opens the period to select 33 ideas, projects or companies that are developed in its different incubation modalities completely free of charge.

The differential advantage of the Córdoba Biotech Incubator is that it focuses on the bio sectors, having laboratories in its facilities for its own use and shared by its incubators

Córdoba Biotech offers three types of incubation: physical with its own laboratories and offices, physical with laboratories and a coworking area, and virtual incubation, focused on companies, initiatives and projects that are both local and from any geographical area.

For selected biotech companies, the Córdoba Biotech High Technology Incubator has a specific area for landing projects that facilitates the participation of initiatives in a preliminary phase, allowing them to validate their idea before joining one of the three phases into which the incubation program is divided, according to their degree of maturity. “Ready”, conceived for projects pending validation of their hypothesis and development of their business model; “Steady”, for those that have a first MVP; and “Go” focused on the acceleration and growth of projects, consolidating the structure of the company.

Specific Córdoba Biotech programs, specialized mentoring, seminars, webinars, masterclasses, forums, conferences and Business Angel networks are part of the support and advisory actions aimed at improving the business idea and the competitiveness of the incubated entrepreneurs.

Non-reimbursable grants for incubated biotechnology companies

In parallel, IMDEEC has opened a line of non-reimbursable aid for biotechnology companies, which companies linked to the Córdoba Biotech Incubator may apply for.

Free accommodation, direct advice from UCO and FIBICO on incubated projects, and the location of Córdoba Biotech in the Orión building, owned by IMDEEC, located in the Córdoba Science and Technology Park, next to the Rabanales University Campus, give CÓRDOBA BIOTECH a privileged position as a High Technology Incubator specialising in the Biotechnology sector.

The call for incubation is open to any of the incubation modalities offered, having constituted a broad profile of beneficiaries: business projects; Bio Startups; researchers; Spin-off and Spin-out; Technology-Based Companies (EBT); Knowledge-Based Companies (EBC); having an innovative technology-based business initiative/project, and framed in the bio-technological sector.

The Córdoba Biotech Incubator, supported by the INCYDE Foundation, is co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund within the Spanish Pluriregional Operational Programme FEDER 2014-2020 PO.
