Damane Cash and the Moroccan Federation of Foreign Exchange Companies (FMSCD) have signed a partnership agreement to implement Cash Advance services through electronic payment terminals (POS) in exchange offices.

A New Regulatory Framework for Digital Payments in Morocco

This initiative follows the publication of Circular No. 3/2025 by the Exchange Office, which authorizes approved exchange operators to use POS terminals for purchasing foreign currency with international bank cards in exchange for dirhams. The agreement fits within a broader dynamic aimed at developing payment services and accelerating the digitalization of exchange offices across the sector in Morocco.

Under this new regulatory framework, exchange offices affiliated with the Federation gain the opportunity to diversify their revenue streams while improving liquidity management. The ability to accept international bank cards responds to the evolving habits of customers who increasingly rely on electronic payment methods. This shift also enhances the commercial appeal of exchange offices, allowing them to better meet the expectations of a more digitally equipped clientele.

Damane Cash: Operational Support and Sector Modernization

As part of the agreement, Damane Cash will act as the payment acquirer, providing comprehensive technical and operational support. This includes the installation of POS terminals, their day-to-day operation, and ongoing coordination with the Federation and participating exchange offices. The objective is to ensure a smooth and compliant deployment of Cash Advance services within the existing regulatory framework.

For exchange offices, integrating Cash Advance represents an important operational lever. It enables the diversification of accepted payment methods while simplifying customer journeys and maintaining full compliance with current regulations.

By delivering practical and operational solutions tailored to the needs of the sector, Damane Cash reinforces its commitment to modernizing payment methods and supporting the digital transformation of financial services in Morocco.
