EcoVadis Launches Network to Accelerate Net Zero Targets

EcoVadis launched the Carbon Data Network (CDN) to enhance supply chain decarbonization, focusing on Scope 3 emissions. With 150,000+ organizations, it improves carbon data reliability and transparency. Emerging regulations demand accurate reporting, yet data inconsistencies persist. CDN, alongside partners like Sweep and Normative, streamlines reporting and accelerates net-zero progress through automation, AI, and collaboration.

EcoVadis, a sustainability intelligence platform for global supply chains, has unveiled the Carbon Data Network (CDN), a game-changer in helping companies decarbonize their supply chains, with a focus on Scope 3 emissions.

With a network of more than 150,000 organizations, the CDN provides unprecedented access to primary data on the reliability of supplier carbon emissions, enabling greater transparency and more accurate tracking of progress toward decarbonization goals.

EcoVadis has addressed this challenge with the Carbon Data Network

“The path to net zero requires bold action, collaboration and trust in data. That’s why we are investing in automation and artificial intelligence to ensure maximum availability and reliability of information,” said Pierre-François Thaler , co-founder and co-CEO of EcoVadis. “With our network, we can now generate insights into the reliability of carbon data at the datapoint level.”

Currently, only 16% of the world’s largest companies are on track to meet their net zero commitments by 2050, highlighting the urgent need to adopt more aggressive emission reduction strategies. Emerging regulations, such as the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism , are putting increasing pressure on companies to provide accurate data on primary carbon emissions across their supply chains.

However, the inefficiency and inconsistency of available data make it difficult to draw an accurate baseline and monitor progress in emissions reductions over time.

“Our goal is to make it easier for companies to get reliable information about primary supplier emissions data, exactly where it is used for Scope 3 calculations,” added Julia Salant , General Manager, Carbon Solution at EcoVadis. “By expanding our ecosystem with partners like Sweep and Normative, we are helping companies move from industry averages to primary data, thereby accelerating their decarbonization journey.”

EcoVadis has addressed this challenge with the Carbon Data Network, which, supported by the Carbon Action Manager (CAM), helps companies engage suppliers in a decarbonization journey based on their maturity level. The CDN offers advanced tools, such as corrective action plans , the Carbon Estimator and the EcoVadis Academy , to help companies develop skills and accelerate their emission reduction plans.

EcoVadis has also formed strategic alliances with carbon accounting providers , such as Sweep and Normative , to improve interoperability, collaboration and data sharing within supply chains. These partnerships streamline the reporting process and ensure supplier data is directly integrated into Scope 3 calculations.
