France Fintech, the association which defends the interests of innovative finance entrepreneurs, announces the integration of Insurtech France, a structure created in 2020 which aims to bring together insurance startups and the entire ecosystem which revolves around it. (investment funds, law and consulting firms, insurers, brokers, etc.). The latter takes with it more than 200 members.

To materialize the arrival of Insurtech France in the ranks of France Fintech, which has more than 350 members, an Insurtech college will be created to bring together all the sectoral skills of the new group. This new entity will be punctuated by the running of think tanks, the organization of meetings, the publication of studies and white papers serving the community of innovative insurance players.

This college will be supervised by a steering committee made up of several members of the Insurtech France office, such as Joël Bassani, co-founder and CEO of Care Foormi, Annabelle Delestre, founder and CEO of Lidix, and Éric Mignot, co-founder and president of +Simple. The latter was already a member of the France FinTech office to carry the voice of insurtech in the association.

The merger between France Fintech and Insurtech France comes at a time when fintech and insurtech are sectors in full consolidation

Not only does the financing crisis hitting tech inevitably lead to a recomposition of these ecosystems ( the case of Luko is a good illustration of this), but they are also reaching maturity as new challenges loom on the horizon.

“The insurance sector is facing multiple challenges: impact of AI and Web3 technologies, rising risks, cyber and climate risks in particular, changes in regulations and pricing, and new expectations of policyholders,” summarized France Fintech, which already brought together a few insurtechs, in addition to French fintech companies and regtechs with the potential to become European or global leaders.

In this context, the integration of Insurtech France will allow the insurtech sector to have an even more audible voice with public authorities, the regulator and the ecosystem, both in France and internationally.

“This merger represents an opportunity for all players in the insurance sector, and more particularly in innovative finance. Together, we will be more powerful at the service of entrepreneurs and the financial center to be able to meet the numerous challenges we face ” said Kristen Charvin, general delegate of France Fintech.

“It is more useful than ever to join forces to support the insurtech ecosystem at a time when the insurance industry is facing the major changes of our time: societal, climatic, technological, etc.”, added Éric Mignot, the boss of +Simple.
