Gini

Gini aims to simplify prepayment with its Gini QR Code Payment solution. The Munich-based fintech now offers e-commerce retailers a free payment alternative to other payment providers. The solution displays a real-time generated QR code to customers during checkout. This code appears either in prepayment, in purchase on account, or in a dedicated “Scan & Pay” payment method.

The QR code can be scanned with all common banking apps, so the buyer then simply initiates a SEPA transfer. The payment process involves live generation of an EPC QR code and automatic recognition via the photo function of the respective banking app.

The advantage: Both merchants and customers would receive immediate status feedback in the store, transforming the traditional asynchronous prepayment into a “Pay Now” solution. Invoices or payment requests could also be supported this way.

The Gini QR Code Payment solution is available to 44 million people in Germany, as that’s how many people use a banking app that allows them to pay via QR code.

Gini QR Code Payment: Benefits for Merchants

Merchants can register for the integration of Gini QR Code Payment in just two minutes. After registration, customers can install and launch the plugin directly in their store – without the hassle of KYC/KYB verification. Whether web, iOS, or Android, ready-made software development kits (SDKs) enable easy integration and adaptation to the design – even of existing e-commerce apps, for example.

Furthermore, Gini QR Code Payment reduces payment costs because the improved user experience increases the prepayment rate during checkout and enables faster payment receipts.

Customers also benefit from Gini’s solution

The payment method is quick and easy for buyers to use, eliminating the need for cumbersome manual entry of transfer details. It is available to a wide range of end customers, as over 90 percent have at least one account and a banking app that supports the process.

Furthermore, the solution is secure: The real-time generation of the QR code with the payment data at the checkout eliminates fraud through quishing. Gini QR Code Payment ( Website)) also works for mobile shopping thanks to the QR code download function and direct app integration (feature in development). Seamless integration into JTL and Shopware shop systems is currently possible, with more to follow.
