GITEX Africa 2025: A Historic Third Edition in Marrakech
GITEX Africa Morocco 2025, under King Mohammed VI’s patronage, will be held in Marrakech from April 14-16. Africa’s largest tech event fosters innovation, investment, and digital transformation. Featuring AI, 5G, EdTech, and key summits, it strengthens Africa’s digital ecosystem. Government, private sector, and global partners collaborate to drive economic growth and sustainability.

The Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, the Digital Development Agency, and the organizer of GITEX Africa Morocco 2025 have announced the holding of a historic third edition in Marrakech. Innovation, investment, and digital transformation: Africa’s unmissable digital event promises a unique edition with new heights and major initiatives.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, in partnership with the Digital Development Agency (ADD), this event is organized by KAOUN International and is Africa’s largest technological and entrepreneurial event. A true catalyst for innovation, GITEX Africa Morocco stimulates investment, accelerates technological advances, and contributes to the continent’s digital and economic growth.
Building on the success of the two previous editions, GITEX Africa Morocco 2025 intends to reach a new milestone. This edition will feature a strengthening of sector-specific conferences, innovative initiatives in the creative industry, and high-value networking forums. The challenge: to foster synergies between governments, investors, entrepreneurs, and digital leaders.
This year’s focus will be on public digital infrastructure in Africa, the development of artificial intelligence ecosystems and the latest technological advances, thus affirming the continent’s role as a leading player in the global digital landscape.
Key initiatives to structure the African digital ecosystem: A summit dedicated to the connectivity of the future
One of the highlights of this edition will be the Africa Future Connectivity Summit, an exclusive gathering bringing together leading players in telecoms, cloud computing, and data centers. This summit will explore the impact of broadband, 5G deployment, and cloud technologies, while facilitating the establishment of public-private partnerships to shape the continent’s digital future.
Mobilizing the African diaspora around innovation
Another major new feature is the Diaspora Studio, a space dedicated to networking African talent on a global scale. Its ambition is to foster investment opportunities, cross-border partnerships, and the transfer of expertise between the diaspora and local technology ecosystems.
A true crossroads for exchanges, this hub will offer a strategic platform for venture capitalists, incubators, and research centers, thus strengthening Africa’s visibility on the international technology scene.
Strong government involvement
Morocco thus reaffirms its ambition to become a leading digital hub in Africa, in accordance with the High Guidelines of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who emphasizes the importance for the continent to fully engage in the global digital revolution. This edition will bring together government representatives, regulatory bodies, and technology industry leaders to discuss crucial topics such as artificial intelligence governance, digital regulations, and public policies that will shape the future of innovation in Africa.
Her Excellency Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni, Minister Delegate for Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, emphasizes the importance of this commitment: “Following the success of the 2024 edition, Morocco is proud to host the third edition of GITEX AFRICA, which confirms our central role in the continent’s digital transformation.
Under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and with the strong support of the Moroccan Government, this year we will be highlighting EdTech, AgriTech, HealthTech, and SportsTech. GITEX AFRICA 2025 will be a privileged meeting place for decision-makers, investors, and innovators to accelerate the continent’s digital integration and foster high-impact partnerships.”
Beyond government support, the private sector is also committed to the continent’s digital development. For this edition, the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the World Bank’s private sector financing arm, is joining GITEX Africa as an Economic Development Partner. This involvement demonstrates its commitment to fostering sustainable investment and accelerating the digital transition in Africa.
The IFC will mark the event with unprecedented participation, highlighting the interconnection between global investment, technological innovation, and entrepreneurship. Makhtar Diop, Managing Director of the IFC, will deliver a keynote address on the continent’s economic transformation and the central role of digital technology in this dynamic.
His presentation will illustrate the rise of an increasingly digital African economy, driven by disruptive innovations in strategic sectors such as fintech and agribusiness. Another flagship initiative of this edition, SheWins Africa, a program led by the IFC, will highlight African women entrepreneurs and women-led startups. This initiative aims to encourage inclusive economic development by empowering women entrepreneurs and promoting their access to financing and international networks.
GITEX Impact: a strengthened commitment to sustainable digital technology
The GITEX Impact program is taking on a new dimension this year. Its scope is expanding to include technologies in the energy transition, mobility, edtech, and sports, in addition to sectors already covered such as agritech, climate technology, and water. This approach reinforces GITEX Africa Morocco’s ambition: to make technology a driver of economic and social transformation on the continent.
Mohammed Drissi Melyani, Director General of ADD, highlights the strategic dimension of the show: “GITEX Africa Morocco is now establishing itself as the essential platform for the continent’s digital transformation by promoting the exchange of experiences and best practices in terms of technological innovation and also strengthening the competitiveness of African public and private ecosystems on a global scale.
This third edition, which comes at the right time to be part of the strong dynamic that the world is experiencing in terms of Digital Transition, responds this year to several major challenges related to the resilience of the digital economy, through the highlighting of strategic sectors of activity such as artificial intelligence, industry 4.0, IoT, Cloud, Cyber Security, Fintech, Edutech, Agritech, Health Tech, Smart Cities, and E-Government, in perfect convergence with the Sustainable Development Goals. The aim of this global technology event is to explore the world of digital technology and its many benefits for a better, more inclusive and responsible future.
GITEX: An essential showcase for emerging technologies
With over 1,400 exhibitors from over 130 countries, GITEX Africa Morocco 2025 will bring together thousands of digital professionals, startups, and investors, creating unique opportunities for networking, fundraising, and knowledge exchange.
Organized by KAOUN International, a subsidiary of the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), the show has established itself as a global technology event. Trixie LohMirmand, CEO of KAOUN International, emphasizes the magnitude of this edition:
“GITEX Africa continues to gain momentum through the conclusion of new strategic partnerships and the integration of new key industries to expand its impact on the African digital ecosystem. To fully capitalize on these dynamics, it is essential that public and private stakeholders engage with determination and resilience. We are convinced that GITEX Africa will play a key role in the accelerated adoption of new technologies and artificial intelligence within vital sectors of the African economy.”
