In line with its commitment to boosting the region’s fintech ecosystem, Krealo, the Corporate Venture Capital arm of the Credicorp Group, announced its investment in the Colombian fintech startup Akua, a comprehensive AI-powered payment processing platform for Latin America. This marks Krealo’s fourth investment in Colombia and its fourteenth across the region.

The move reflects Krealo’s focus on expanding knowledge and capabilities in the payment transaction ecosystem and maintaining its leadership in digital financial services. “We invested in Akua because of the opportunity it represents to continue increasing our learning in the payment transaction ecosystem from the Credicorp Group, keeping us at the forefront to continue strengthening this line of business,” said Adolfo Vinatea, the CEO of Krealo.
