Moroccan Airports See Strong Growth in 2025 with Rising Passenger Traffic and Solid Financial Performance
Moroccan airports handled 36.3 million passengers in 2025, up 11%, driven by strong international traffic and recovering domestic travel. Aircraft movements rose 9% and freight reached 100,000 tonnes. ONDA posted solid financial results, supporting continued investments. Growth reflects national strategy, with ongoing reforms, major projects, and the “Airports 2030” plan advancing.
Moroccan airports handled a total of 36.3 million passengers in 2025, marking an 11% increase compared to the previous year, according to the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Abdessamad Kayouh. He made this announcement on Monday during a Board of Directors meeting of the National Airports Office (ONDA), which was attended by ONDA Director General Adel El Fakir.
This growth of Moroccan airports was largely driven by the continued strength of international air traffic, which reached 32.4 million passengers. At the same time, domestic travel also showed signs of recovery, with 3.9 million passengers recorded. Kayouh highlighted that both segments contributed significantly to the overall positive performance of the sector.

Aircraft movements also experienced an increase, rising by 9% to approximately 265,000. In addition, air freight volume reached nearly 100,000 tonnes. These figures further reinforce Morocco’s position as a key regional hub for air transport and logistics.
From a financial perspective, ONDA reported a turnover of 5.8 billion dirhams, representing a 9% increase. The net result stood at around 1.3 billion dirhams, up by 16%. These results confirm the Office’s strong performance and its capacity to continue investing in strategic projects.
Kayouh emphasized that these outcomes demonstrate ONDA’s resilience and its ability to sustain investments despite challenges such as rising investment and financing costs. He noted that maintaining this balance is essential for long-term development.
The minister also underlined that the steady growth of national air transport reflects the vision of King Mohammed VI. This vision focuses on developing a modern airport system that meets international standards and supports Morocco’s expanding global presence, while also enhancing its economic and tourism appeal.
In addition, Kayouh praised the progress made in implementing ONDA’s institutional transformation. The transition into a public limited company was described as a crucial step toward improving management efficiency and strengthening modern governance practices.
He further stressed the importance of preserving financial stability of Moroccan airports while accelerating the execution of major projects within established deadlines, ensuring high standards of quality and efficiency.
The meeting served to review ONDA’s 2025 financial results and approve its accounts. It also provided an opportunity to assess the progress of the “Airports 2030” strategy and to present the action plan and budget for 2026.
Participants included senior officials such as the Director General of the National Agency for Strategic Management of State Holdings, the Director General of Civil Aviation, the Director of Civil Air Navigation, and the Director of Air Transport.
