Nova Ventures

From the merger of Open Seed and Seed Money, two consolidated national venture capital firms, Nova Ventures was created, bringing together a community of around 1,000 active members, a diversified portfolio featuring more than 20 startups, and highly qualified governance.

“We’ve combined our skills, experience, and relationships to create an ecosystem that supports innovation from the earliest stages,” explained Francesco Zorgno, president of Nova Ventures. “Through crowdfunding, we’re opening our doors to everyone, offering the opportunity to invest in startups alongside an experienced team.”

The equity crowdfunding campaign

To develop the Nova Ventures project, a crowdfunding campaign has just launched on CrowdFundMe, aiming to raise €1 million (a minimum goal of €400,000).

The funds will be allocated primarily to selected startups within the four vertical sectors, in tranches of 50,000 euros, and will allow new members to invest in early-stage startups with the support of a select team of professionals.

A new generation of venture capital

Nova Ventures was created to fill the capital gap in the pre-seed segment of early-stage investments in Italy, which receives only a small portion of funding despite representing 26% of rounds.

It offers startups funding, operational expertise, mentorship, and a select network. Investing at this stage requires analytical expertise but can offer excellent returns. Portfolio companies include Contents.com, CleanBnB, and Over The Reality.

” We’ve built a system where each startup is mentored, supported, and guided along its growth journey by those who have already worked in this field, from the inside,” explained Lorenzo Ferrara, CEO of Nova Ventures. ” Our model is designed to be sustainable, but also highly generative.”

Nova Ventures’ investments

Nova Ventures’ investments focus on four verticals with extremely high growth potential.

Each vertical will be supported by partner companies operating in that sector, some already identified and others in the selection phase: PropTech, with the direct support of CleanBnB; Creative AI, led by Contents.com; LifeTech, with a focus on health and wellness; and Impact Investing, for projects with high social and environmental value.

“Our portfolios are built with future exits in mind, a process designed and structured to create the best conditions from the outset to facilitate the sale of stakes. This is in the best interests of the founders, but above all, of our investor partners,” explained Marco Rizzelli, CIO (chief investment officer) of Nova Ventures.
