Tasty Life Raises €700,000 to Expand Pedol Brand and Launch Food-Tech Innovation
Tasty Life’s equity crowdfunding on Mamacrowd raised nearly €700K, surpassing its €350K minimum with support from 60+ investors. Funds will expand the Pedol brand, open four locations by September 2025, and scale Metacibus’ patented food-tech. Blending tradition and innovation, the Milan-based group champions sustainable seafood through a scalable, high-quality culinary model rooted in Italian excellence.

The equity crowdfunding campaign on Mamacrowd by Tasty Life, a holding company in the fish sector that integrates fishmongers, bistros and food-tech with the Pedol brand, has raised almost €700,000 just over two weeks after the end of the round.
The maximum goal is €850,000 and the minimum was €350,000, largely exceeded thanks to over 60 investors.
The funds raised will be used to finance the opening of four new locations by September 2025, consolidate the Pedol brand and bring the proprietary technology developed by Metacibus to the market.
Tasty Life:A group that combines history and innovation
Born from the acquisition of the historic Pescheria Pedol in 2012 by Ugo Cosentino, former CEO of Pfizer Italia, Tasty Life has evolved into a structured reality, starting from Pescheria Pedol, a Milanese institution since 1929, recognized as a historic business by the Lombardy Region.
The fishmonger’s shop has been joined by Bistrot Pedol, a flagship store in the Mercato Centrale in Milan, which combines express cuisine and the freshest fish in a casual but high-quality, customer-focused setting.
And, recently, Metacibus was born, an innovative startup with 2 proprietary patents for the cold treatment of foods using ultrasound.
Real growth, concrete project
With a 2024 turnover of over €2.9 million between the fishmonger and the Tasty Life bistro, a margin that is clearly improving and a format that has already been validated by the market, Tasty Life is now preparing to expand with 4 new openings in Milan (Piazza Wagner and Mercato Rombon), Rapallo (Porto Carlo Riva) and Bolzano (Mercato Centrale – Waltherpark).
Targeted investments, strategic locations and an expert team, including starred chef Franck Businelli, are the keys to an expansion already underway, supported so far only with equity capital.
Equity crowdfunding: investment and community
Through the collection on Mamacrowd, Tasty Life aims to involve investors, enthusiasts and customers in a project that enhances authenticity, sustainable quality and Italian gastronomic culture.
“The incredible recognizability of the Pedol brand in Milan has pushed us to build a scalable project. We chose equity crowdfunding to involve a community that believes in the value of Italian seafood excellence and authentic experience. Our country, surrounded by incredible seas, has a long tradition of fishermen, Tasty Life celebrates its origins in a modern, technological and quality restaurant that we want to bring to the world, without ever compromising our identity and the call of the essential” explained Ugo Cosentino, CEO of Tasty Life.
A future already written: food, tech and sustainability
The expansion of the bistro and fish shop will be the focus of the collection but part of the resources will also be allocated to the acceleration of Metacibus , with its patented and sustainable food-tech technology that guarantees quality and extension of the product life cycle.
With a scalable model, a competitive average receipt (around €40), a team of 25 people destined to double, and a young and dynamic target, Tasty Life positions itself as a gastronomic and entrepreneurial project of the future, with a heart firmly anchored in tradition.
