Why Experts Predict that the Crowdfunding Sector Will Grow in 2025

Thanks to regulation in the crowdfunding  industry and the Covid pandemic, this sector is growing in Mexico at a rate of between 25 and 30 percent annually and next year the market will consolidate, according to specialists.

Th crowdfunding industry, which emerged 10 years ago, has experienced a boom in Mexico over the last three years, especially in Nuevo León, where the investment culture is greater than in the rest of the country.

In an interview for the MILENIO -Multimedios platform, Alberto Padilla, CEO and co-founder of Briq, explained that it is a platform that allows people who do not have a large amount of capital to start as investors for various real estate projects.

“Briq is growing very similarly to the industry as a whole, at rates ranging from 25 to 30 percent annually. What we see is that the people who are investing in these platforms range in age from 25 to 55,” he said.

“With us, you can start with an investment of 500 pesos for a period of 18 to 30 months, and on average you can get an annualized return of between 18 and 20 percent,” he added.
He indicated that the state of Nuevo León is relevant for the crowdfunding platform Briq, given that it is the fourth state with the highest number of users (investors) behind Mexico City, Guadalajara and Querétaro.

However, in terms of the amount invested through crowdfunding, Nuevo León stands out and is ranked second after Mexico City

Padilla described in the interview that the Briq platform has a diverse focus : it can be found in financing projects for the construction of housing developments, shopping malls, industrial warehouses and hotels.

“Monterrey, which will be one of the venues for the 2026 World Cup, is in the construction phase of several infrastructure projects, especially housing and hotels, which is why we foresee a very prosperous 2025 for the crowdfunding industry ,” said the executive.

Real estate crowdfunding is a collective financing practice in which multiple investors participate with resources to be able to carry out a specific real estate project.
