A crowdfunding campaign is currently running for the e-bike on Indiegogo. The folding bike is currently available for €1,278. The manufacturer also offers accessories such as a bike basket, a carrying bag, or a saddle extension, which can be purchased for an additional charge.

The folding bike E-Pop-Cycle was unveiled at IFA 2023 – back then with an aluminum frame. It is an e-bike with 16-inch tires that can be folded to around a third of its size to save space. The target group is people who want to be mobile and flexible in an urban environment.

Thanks to its folding mechanism and weight of 16 kg, the bike from South Korean company Bokyong is designed to be easy to transport on the bus or subway. When folded up, the carbon e-bike design fits easily into a car trunk or can be carried up a flight of stairs.

Folding bike with adjustable frame for 142 – 195 cm height

The frame of the E-Pop-Cycle can be moved horizontally and can therefore be adapted to different body heights. According to the manufacturer, the bike can be used by people between 142 and 195 cm tall. This means it can grow with you or be used by different family members.

The E-Pop-Cycle also has a seven-speed gear system. As far as the brakes are concerned, disc brakes are used at the front and rear. The e-bike is advertised with a throttle grip. However, this also means that the e-bike is not allowed to be used on the roads in Germany.

Up to 80 km range with modular battery

Power is provided by the E-Pop-Cycle’s 250-watt hub motor, which supports pedaling up to a speed of 25 km/h. The associated battery system has a modular design and a capacity of 540 Wh. According to the manufacturer, it should enable a range of up to 80 kilometers.

Intelligent control via the app

The E-Pop-Cycle app can be used to connect to the e-bike and record data such as riding time, speed, distance, and calories burned. The app can also be used to make adjustments, such as setting the motor assistance levels.

Big discount via a crowdfunding campaign for the folding bike

A crowdfunding campaign is currently running for the e-bike on Indiegogo. The folding bike is currently available for €1,278. Compared to the regular list price of €2,297, this is a discount of a good 40 percent. The manufacturer also offers accessories such as a bike basket, a carrying bag, or a saddle extension, which can be purchased for an additional charge. However, shipping costs are added to the sales price. These amount to around €150 to Germany. The folding bike, which is available in 14 different colors, will be delivered in January 2024.

In terms of price, there are certainly cheaper alternatives in the folding e-bike segment, such as the PVY Z20 Pro for less than €800. However, its equipment and design are also slightly cheaper than the E-Pop-Cycle.

Note: As with any crowdfunding campaign, there is of course a risk that the E-Pop-Cycle project will not be realized and the money invested will not be refunded. You can read more about this in our guide.
