Recoletas Salud achieves a new milestone. The hospital group has completed the transformation of the financing of 283 million euros into a sustainable operation coordinated by the banking entity ING. With this initiative, Recoletas Salud acquires the commitment to undertake a green and socially responsible transformation of the company.
The financing obtained is conditional on strategic sustainable development objectives, such as reducing the carbon footprint, transmitting knowledge through scientific publications and training its employees.
For the first objective, the group of healthcare services wants to implement measures to improve energy efficiency in equipment and infrastructure, reduce energy consumption and increase the use of renewable energy. In addition, the promotion of research and development (R&D) will occur through an increase in the number of medical studies published in national and international scientific journals .
Recoletas Salud is currently directed by Ricardo Rodríguez, son of the company’s founder
For the last objective, that of developing talent and training its employees, it will increase training for its workers to improve their skills.
Ricardo Rodríguez, corporate general manager of Recoletas Salud, highlighted that “Recoletas Salud is a company that is dedicated to ensuring the health and well-being of people, precisely one of the major objectives of the 2030 Agenda, and it does so in a committed manner with growth criteria that, in addition to a financial perspective, take into account environmental and social perspectives that contribute to Sustainable Development.”
Carlos García Peredo, head of financing at ING Spain and Portugal, assures that “this operation confirms our commitment and leadership in sustainable financing in Spain. “We are very happy to renew our commitment to Recoletas Salud and incorporate specific objectives in the social and sustainability sphere.”
Founded in 1989, Recoletas Salud emerged as a regional group that concentrates its activity in Castilla y León, although today it also operates hospitals in Cuenca, Málaga and Orense. The company was created by Amando Rodríguez, and today it is his son Ricardo Rodríguez Iglesias who directs it.
