Receive a direct financial benefit and take an active role in the energy transition. These are the cornerstones of the campaign “ Let’s Create Energy – Together for the Energy Transition in Italy”, which RWE first launched exclusively in Puglia and has now extended to the entire national territory.

The initiative offers citizens the opportunity to invest in the construction of a new onshore wind farm located in San Severo, in the province of Foggia, through the crowdinvesting platform Ener2Crowd.

RWE is a major player in the renewable energy market in Italy. Thanks to its extensive experience in the sector, it is present in the country with 15 onshore wind farms in operation with an installed capacity of approximately 500 megawatts, capable of meeting the annual energy needs of approximately 400,000 families.

Investing in the construction of the San Severo wind farm

This is a concrete way to support the development of green energy and the decarbonization process of our country, an opportunity to share with local communities and the entire country the environmental and economic advantages that derive from the development of energy from renewable sources.

The new onshore wind farm in San Severo, in fact, with 54 megawatts of total installed capacity, will provide clean energy to 55,000 Italian families when fully operational.

Construction of the plant began in December 2023 and is expected to enter into operation by the end of December 2024.

To join the campaign, investing in sustainability, RWE has chosen the Ener2Crowd platform , one of the first authorized by CONSOB (Italian Financial Market Supervisory Authority).

Each of the campaign’s supporters can in fact invest from 250 to 5,000 euros with returns of 8% gross per year for a duration of 24 months. The campaign has already raised 140,000 euros to date, against a minimum goal of 100,000, thanks to over 110 investors.

To date, Ener2Crowd.com, with over 15 thousand members, has already financed 135 ESG projects for over 31 million euros in funding.

Other RWE projects

Also in Puglia, RWE has been building another onshore wind farm for several months: Mondonuovo, located in the province of Brindisi, for an additional 53 megawatts.

Once both plants are operational, RWE will generate enough electricity from onshore wind to supply green energy to more than 500,000 households in Italy.

The company is also currently building its first photovoltaic plant in Italy: Bosco, an 8.3 megawatt (MWac) ground-mounted solar plant that will be installed in the municipality of Partinico, near Palermo.
