DKV Mobility, a platform active in international mobility services, has received approval for its carbon reduction targets from the Science Based Targets initiative ( SBTi ). The company has committed to achieving net zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions throughout its value chain by 2050.

As part of its ongoing commitment to this goal, the company has set short-term targets to reduce emissions by 42% by 2030. The SBTi approval confirms that DKV Mobility’s new emissions targets are in line with climate science and the Paris Agreement’s goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C .

DKV Mobility will continue to transparently share progress while also committing to decarbonization

“As a leading platform for international mobility services, we are immensely proud that our new ambitious emissions reduction targets have been validated by the high standards of the Science Based Targets initiative,” said Jana Eggerding-Tenhagen , Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) and Head of Sustainability at DKV Mobility. “Being part of this global initiative not only confirms that we are on the right track with our climate protection actions, but also that we are contributing to a broader collective effort.”

SBTi has approved DKV Mobility’s targets, which in the short term translate into a reduction of absolute Scope 1 and Scope 2 greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of 42% by 2030. In the long term , however, the reduction of absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions can reach up to 90% by 2050. Absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions will arise from the purchase of goods and services and the use of products marketed for the sale of fossil fuels.

To achieve these goals, DKV Mobility aims to reduce emissions in its business operations by reducing energy consumption, optimising fuel use along the supply chain and making its products more sustainable. DKV Mobility will continue to transparently share progress while also committing to decarbonisation.
