Avant Devices Moves Toward Electric Wheelchair Kit Production with New Funding Drive
Murcia-based Avant Devices is seeking €260,000 in crowdfunding to launch mass production of its electric wheelchair conversion kit. The funds will support certification, sales development, and initial manufacturing. With a validated prototype and strategic partnerships, the company aims to start production in 2027, generate revenue, and expand internationally through new markets and collaborations.
Murcia-based startup Avant Devices is preparing for the next major step in its development: the mass production of its innovative kit designed to transform traditional manual wheelchairs into electric mobility solutions.
The company expects to begin manufacturing as early as the beginning of next year, but first needs additional funding to complete certification, scale operations, and bring the product to market.
Crowdfunding Campaign Supports Certification and Market Launch
To achieve this goal, Avant Devices has launched a crowdfunding campaign through StartupXplore, seeking to raise up to €260,000 from individual investors. The funds will support key areas of the business, including obtaining official product certification, creating a dedicated sales team, and producing the first commercial units.
“We want to use this round to achieve product certification, develop a sales structure, and manufacture the first units,” explained Juan Antonio Carrasco, CEO and founder of Avant Devices, in an interview.
The campaign has already received €50,000 in commitments before its official crowdfunding phase and aims to secure at least another €10,000 to reach the platform’s minimum target of €60,000. Investors will have three weeks to participate in the funding round.
Looking ahead, the company estimates that the certification process will take approximately six to seven months. If timelines remain on track, Avant Devices could begin production around March or April, with projected revenues of approximately €400,000 during 2027.
Avant Devices Has Closed Strategic Partnerships to Accelerate Growth
The startup is also strengthening its market position through strategic partnerships. It has signed agreements with the D’Genes Association and the Ibero-American Alliance for Rare, Orphan, or Uncommon Diseases (ALIBER). These collaborations are expected to improve access to potential customers and expand awareness of the product among people with mobility challenges. The company is also exploring additional partnerships with other Spanish organizations.
Avant Devices has already developed a functional prototype that has undergone testing in diverse environments, including urban areas, beaches, and mountainous terrain. According to Carrasco, the project is currently in the pre-industrialization stage and must still complete the transition toward full industrial manufacturing.
Once production is scaled, the company plans to expand internationally. Carrasco believes that its partnership with ALIBER could help open opportunities in Latin America, supporting Avant Devices’ ambition to bring its electric wheelchair technology to a wider global audience.
