Ecobnb, the platform dedicated to sustainable tourism, avoided over 58,000 kg of CO₂ in 2025 and expanded its network with 583 new eco-friendly accommodations.
For every euro invested in regenerative tourism, €6 of value is generated for the community and the environment. This is according to the Social Impact Report by Ecobnb, the eco-sustainable tourism booking platform based in Rovereto that promotes sustainable tourism through an international network of eco-friendly accommodations.
The report shows that in 2025, the network avoided 58,207 kilograms of CO₂ thanks to bookings made through the platform and expanded the network with 583 new eco-friendly accommodations, almost double the previous year.
Ecobnb’s business continues to grow despite an increasingly complex competitive landscape
Over the course of the year, 6,511 nights were sold, a slight increase compared to 2024, helping generate nearly €259,000 in revenue for the network’s accommodation facilities. These bookings have avoided emissions equivalent to those absorbed by over 762,000 trees in one day, with an estimated social value of over €11,600.
In terms of promoting responsible tourism, the Ecobnb platform has registered 1.25 million users and approximately 2.4 million page views. Thirty-seven percent of traffic comes from abroad, confirming the project’s growing international relevance, while over 60% of accesses are from mobile devices.
Environmental impact remains at the heart of the initiative. Accommodations listed on Ecobnb must meet at least five sustainability requirements, including the use of renewable energy, reduced water consumption, waste sorting, organic products, and sustainable mobility. According to estimates adopted by the platform, each night in an eco-friendly accommodation can avoid up to 8 kg of CO₂ compared to a traditional accommodation.
Alongside its booking activities, Ecobnb also carries out reforestation and environmental regeneration projects. In recent years, it has promoted the planting of approximately 130 trees in the Po Valley and the protection of approximately 100,000 square meters of forest in Liguria, earmarked for long-term renaturalization.
Looking at the company’s entire history, in its first eleven years of operation, Ecobnb estimates it has generated a social and environmental impact exceeding €2.4 million. With total investments of approximately €395,000, the project achieved a Social Return on Investment (SROI) of 6.09, equivalent to over €6 in value created for every euro invested. This figure highlights how sustainable tourism can represent not only an environmental choice, but also a model capable of producing measurable economic and social benefits.
