A new platform appears on the lending crowdfunding market for companies. It is Investimento Digitale, an innovative startup based in Modena and Milan that was created to support deserving SMEs and presents on its platform projects of Italian companies that need to receive financing with amounts between $54,400 (€50,000) and $2.7 million (€2.5 million). Depending on the project, the duration of the loan may vary from 6 to 48 months as well as the mode of repayment of capital and interest.

The aim is to connect entrepreneurs and investors directly through an independent digital tool that guarantees the former smart access to funding to support the growth of their business, while the latter can invest in support of the real economy without commission and with above-average returns.

The platform only deals with development and growth projects, so it doesn’t fund debt coverage, losses or taxes. It has put in place a very rigid process for choosing companies for collection by defining a rating model that allows it to select only the best investment opportunities, assigning a degree of risk to each one, to allow the funding public to make its own analysis.

“The latest data available are those for 2020, but they show a growth in lending of 75% on the previous year, and also for 2021 the expectations are very high,” explained Roberto Ghilardini, founder of Investimento Digitale. “In 2017, lending crowdfunding in Italy had raised $20.7 million (€19 million), in 2018 the amount reached $55.5 million (€51 million), in 2019 $76 million (€70 million), and in 2020 over $201 million (€185 million). This is a sector that offers undoubted opportunities both to Italian SMEs that need to raise capital quickly and to investors who have the possibility to diversify their portfolios. The lending formula is very simple to understand and this is certainly one of the reasons for its success: basically, it is a loan of money. Moreover, it has a very low access threshold. You can invest from as little as $272 (€250). With $2,720 (€2,500), for example, you can invest in 10 companies.”
