CAP48: A Year of Impact and Inclusion, with More to Come in 2025
In 2024, CAP48 raised over €8.6 million, funding 155 projects for people with disabilities and youth in difficulty. Support targeted facility improvements, resources, and inclusion. Medical research on autism advanced early diagnoses, while education and sports projects promoted accessibility and talent. The 2025 campaign is underway, with associations invited to submit new funding requests.

In 2024, thanks to people incredible generosity and commitment, CAP48 successfully raised more than €8.6 million. This remarkable achievement has now translated into concrete support for those in need.
After carefully reviewing the many applications submitted by various associations within the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, CAP48 has selected and funded 155 impactful projects. These initiatives focus on improving the lives of people with disabilities as well as young people facing difficult circumstances.
Empowering Communities Through Generosity: 2024’s Impactful Achievements
Out of the total number of supported projects, 99 associations received funding through CAP48’s traditional annual call for projects. An additional 56 associations were supported via “LabCAP48 with CBC,” an innovative online fundraising platform. Among all funded efforts, 81% are dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities, while the remaining 19% address the challenges faced by young people in difficulty.
This targeted financial assistance is being used to enhance reception facilities (56%), reinforce essential human and material resources (30%), and promote mobility and inclusion for all beneficiaries (14%).
People donations are already making a real difference, particularly in communities such as Uccle, where support for individuals with severe disabilities continues to grow. To access further details or exclusive content, you may log in for free.
CAP48’s impact is also visible in major sectors such as medicine, sports, and education. Since 2022, dedicated funding has been channeled into groundbreaking medical research focused on autism spectrum disorders. This long-term initiative seeks to expand and strengthen specialized medical teams, establish a unified medical data registry, and encourage early diagnosis. Thanks to these efforts, more than half of the children affected were able to see a specialist before their third birthday in 2023 and 2024.
Meanwhile, CAP48 is also advancing important educational and athletic initiatives. The “School for All” project is working to create more inclusive school environments by establishing new spaces for children with disabilities and improving both physical infrastructure and available resources. Since its launch in 2008, this initiative has resulted in the creation of 44 inclusive classrooms within mainstream schools.
Looking Ahead: CAP48 Continued Commitment with the 2025 Campaign
On the sporting front, the “CAP sur l’or” program is committed to supporting elite athletes with disabilities by ensuring they have access to top-tier training equipment and support systems that match their level of excellence.
Looking ahead, the momentum continues. Even before the full impact of the 2024 campaign has been realized, preparations for the 2025 funding cycle are already underway. Associations are now invited to submit their applications to seek continued or new support for the coming year.
