Agential Cannabis

With Agential Cannabis 2026, one of the most important industry events in the Asia-Pacific region (APAC) is taking further concrete shape. On September 23rd and 24th, 2026, the international community of experts will meet at the Bangkok International Trade & Exhibition Centre (BITEC) in Thailand to actively shape the future of the medical cannabis market.

The event combines a high-caliber conference with a carefully curated B2B expo covering the entire value chain – from genetics and cultivation to extraction, quality assurance, and international market access.

Agential Cannabis 2026: From potential to production

The APAC region is currently undergoing a crucial transformation. While the focus in recent years has primarily been on establishing regulatory frameworks, the industrial implementation is now taking center stage. GMP standards are being increasingly implemented, supply chains are being professionalized, and initial significant export volumes are being established in markets such as Australia, Europe, and Japan.

For producers and processors, this means: it’s no longer just about visions, but about scaling, process reliability, and consistent quality. This is precisely where Agential Cannabis 2026 comes in – as a platform for those players who are already operating on an industrial scale or are about to.

Thailand as a strategic hub

Thailand plays a special role in this. Having refocused its legislation on a more medical model in mid-2025, the country is increasingly becoming a stable anchor point for the region. The figures speak for themselves: within just a few months, the number of GACP-certified farms has risen from around 150 to almost 220.

At the same time, 38 licenses for cannabis extraction and four export licenses have been granted so far – with Australia as the most important customer. This dynamic clearly shows that the industry is moving from a regulatory framework to functioning international supply structures.

Austranna as headline sponsor of the Agential Cannabis

Austranna, a major player, has been secured as a headline sponsor. The Australian company operates a state-of-the-art cultivation and production facility in Queensland, with its first commercial harvest planned for this year. The facility is initially designed for one hectare, with the potential to expand to five hectares.

CEO Bryan Ebstyne will provide insights into topics such as automation, robotics, and GMP-compliant production in controlled cultivation systems at the conference. He will also participate in several panels discussing practical experiences from building industrial production structures.

Ebstyne emphasizes the importance of timing: The region is at a turning point where well-thought-out plant design, stable genetics, and reliable production methods are crucial for long-term success. The event offers a valuable opportunity to exchange knowledge and define standards together.

Practical content and international expertise

The conference program is structured around six key themes: markets, production, genetics, artificial intelligence and technology, regulation, and therapeutic applications. Around 50 speakers are expected, including operators of large indoor facilities from Canada, Australia, Thailand, the Netherlands, South Africa, and New Zealand.

The program will be complemented by international buyers, US genetics experts, scientists, physicians, and representatives from industry associations in Europe and the UK. Speakers from the Thai government are also expected to be confirmed shortly.

The event is supported by, among others, the European Medicinal Cannabis Association (EUMCA) and the British Cannabis Trades Association (CTA), which underlines the growing international networking of the APAC market.

Focus on business and networking

In addition to the conference, the trade fair forms the second key element of the event. Here, producers, suppliers, and buyers from the entire value chain come together.

Confirmed exhibitors already include HY-GEN Nutrients from Australia, TNR Bioscience from Thailand, and Umami Seed Co. from the USA.A particular highlight is the “Thai Farm Pavilion”, which offers direct access to GACP-certified farms and local producers – a clear advantage for international buyers who want to establish concrete business relationships.

The event is rounded off by networking formats such as an exclusive VIP welcome reception on the first day of the event and an after-party at the end.

Platform for the next stage of development

The organizers have a clear objective: Agential Cannabis 2026 aims not only to impart knowledge but also to actively facilitate business transactions. The focus is on the key players who truly drive the market – producers, buyers, and operators working on a large scale.

With the increasing professionalization and internationalization of the medical cannabis market in APAC, the event is likely to play a key role in initiating the next stage of development. Registration is now open, with discounted “Super Early Bird” tickets available until April 30th. Further program details and announcements will follow in the coming months.
