EDP has been recognized once again as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies by the Ethisphere Institute, a global leader in defining and advancing standards of ethical business conduct.
In this edition, EDP has once again distinguished itself in the ranking of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for its management practices and its consistent ethical policy, obtaining an above-average score. This recognition recognizes the commitment carried out over the years in all the geographical areas in which it operates.
At EDP, ethics is based on a solid structure that has as its reference the Code of Ethics
This is the 14th consecutive year the company EDP has received the distinction, and this year’s selection included 136 companies from 19 countries and 44 sectors, including seven from the Energy & Utilities sector. The honorees outperformed a comparable index of global companies by 7.8 percentage points between January 2020 and January 2025.
“We congratulate EDP on being recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies,” said Erica Salmon Byrne, Chief Strategy Officer and Executive Chairman of Ethisphere. “Behind this recognition is a true dedication and commitment to corporate integrity. This approach adds value to the business by rewarding companies that adopt the types of practices we measure through our process.”
At EDP, ethics is based on a solid structure that has as its reference the Code of Ethics, published in 2005 and periodically updated, whose last revision was approved at the end of 2024. In addition, the company has ethics committees , reporting channels and a global area specialized in ethics and compliance, led by an “ethics and compliance officer.” This system is reinforced by the commitment to integrate ethics into the company’s daily activities, through training and awareness initiatives aimed at employees.
To select the world’s most ethical companies, the World’s Most Ethical Companies program uses a questionnaire with over 200 questions, designed to assess different aspects of the ethical culture of organizations and which analyzes topics such as corporate culture, governance, compliance programs, corporate social responsibility and community impact, ensuring a structured and standardized analysis.
