Voilàp Chooses Arvzero Carbon-Neutral Steel

Voilàp is advancing its carbon reduction efforts by using carbon-neutral steel for its subsidiary Imecon, replacing 150 tons annually. The plan will expand to other group companies, affecting over 3,000 tons per year. Combined with renewable energy initiatives, Voilàp has reduced emissions by 25%, aligning with UN sustainability goals for innovation, infrastructure, and climate action.

Voilàp, a multinational company that designs and manufactures machinery and technologies for industry, has launched a program for the use of ArvzeroTM, the carbon-neutral steel produced by Acciaieria Arvedi in the Cremona plant, starting from high-quality scrap.

Arvzero is a carbon steel produced using the revolutionary Arvedi ESP technology, the result of over 30 years of study, research and development, based on production in an electric furnace loaded with recycled scrap and the use of 100% certified electrical energy from renewable sources.

Voilàp is also taking a step forward in reducing the carbon footprint of its supply chain

The first phase of Voilàp’s initiative involved replacing the needs of its subsidiary Imecon, specialized in the sector of turnkey technological solutions for Digital Signage and Outdoor Advertising, with carbon-neutral steel, for a total of approximately 150 tons per year. Subsequently, the program aims to progressively extend these purchasing choices to the other companies in the group, which generate purchasing volumes exceeding 3,000 tons per year.

Thanks to this initiative, the Voilàp group improves its positioning with respect to the following UN sustainable development goals (SGDs): SGD 9 (business, innovation and infrastructure ), SGD 11 (sustainable cities and communities), SGD 12 (responsible construction and production), SGD 13 (climate action).

Following the decarbonization and energy efficiency actions launched in March 2023 with the installation of photovoltaic panels in the group’s plants, the conversion of all energy purchases to renewable sources and the installation of sensor and data management solutions to optimise energy consumption at production sites, which led to a 25% reduction in scope 1 and scope 2 emissions and guaranteed energy autonomy for approximately 40% of the headquarters’ consumption, Voilàp is also taking a step forward in reducing the carbon footprint of its supply chain.
