Tenuta Licupi, a Hub of Eco-Sustainable and Technological Wine in Puglia, Is Collecting on Mamacrowd
Tenuta Licupi, a 42-hectare eco-sustainable wine hub in Puglia, combines vineyards, a zero-emission winery, a resort, and glamping. Its crowdfunding campaign on Mamacrowd surpassed €300,000, targeting €800,000 to complete the resort and cellar by 2025. Innovations include NFTs for wine “futures,” enabling investment and trade, merging sustainability, technology, and local valorization.
Tenuta Licupi is a redevelopment project of 42 hectares of land in Lizzano (Taranto) where the first eco-sustainable wine hub in Puglia is located, consisting of: vineyard, cellar, wine resort, glamping accommodation and experimental educational center.
The company has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Mamacrowd which, a few days after its launch, has already exceeded the minimum collection goal, equal to 300,000, thanks to the participation of 50 investors.
It is now aiming for a maximum target of 800,000 euros, against a pre-money valuation of 3.44 million.
The Tenuta Licupi project
The project of Tenuta Licupi was created from the meeting between the spouses Maria Concetta Giacovelli and Stefano Goracci, both engineers with a passion for agriculture and with significant previous experience behind them respectively in Prada, Enerqos and other luxury and renewable energy companies.
The vineyard was planted in 2013 based on a project by Attilio Scienza (Full Professor of Viticulture at the University of Milan) with four cultivars (Primitivo, Negramaro, Fiano and Malvasia) for an estimated overall production of over 310,000 litres of wine in 2026 .
The Zero Emission Building winery, thanks to a patented pyrolysis system from pruning waste , engineering solutions, photovoltaic systems and conservative agriculture techniques, will avoid the emission of 320 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere .
The Cellar, Wine Resort and accommodations spread across the estate will have photovoltaic energy production and energy saving systems to bring the entire company to the minimum level of environmental impact.
The objectives of Tenuta Licupi capital raising
The funds raised will be used to complete the construction of the Wine Resort and the Cellar, under construction and which will be completed by May 2025.
The winery is covered by a patent that certifies not only its zero environmental impact, but even its positive impact , since it would allow the production of renewable energy in excess of the winery’s needs.
To reduce the carbon footprint, a photovoltaic system and a biomass cogenerator are also planned, so as to valorize pruning waste.
Tenuta Licupi is also working on a new frontier for the wine market towards digitalization and agriculture 5.0 with the integration of NFTs, making each bottle a certified investment opportunity.
The NFT Project
In fact, the three premium product lines of the six created will be accompanied by a work of art created annually for each of them by the painter Simone Torri.
The products of Tenuta Licupi will be offered for sale as NFTs starting from the harvest and will then be transformed into numbered artistic labels of the vintages.
With NFTs, Tenuta Licupi intends to issue commitments to deliver future products at the time of the harvest and develop a secondary market, allowing investors to purchase future wine stocks before production, as if they were “futures”.
Investors will then be able to resell the NFTs through a dedicated marketplace on the company website, taking advantage of the appreciation in value.
In partnership with the Sealo app, it will be possible to manage and trade these NFTs in a transparent and secure way, allowing a return on investment through direct trading on the winery’s portal together with an advance on the company’s revenues.
Maria Concetta Giacovelli, Co-Founder and CEO of Tenuta Licupi said: “Tenuta Licupi is an ambitious and unique project in Italy that combines sustainability, technology and the valorization of local products. My family and I have undertaken this challenge right here in Puglia, where my family has roots, to demonstrate that it is possible to do good business in the south too.”
