An Association for Hemp in Agriculture Was Created in Germany
The hemp association wants to protect the environment by offering products made with particularly low CO2 emissions. HaLT is committed to sustainable agriculture and a turnaround in raw materials. The cultivation of commercial hemp in Germany is monitored by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food and only certified seeds are used in accordance with the Common Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant Species.
An association for hemp in agriculture and textile economy (HaLT) was founded in Germany. Commercial hemp had a great past in the country, but the political restrictions of the last decades made it difficult for commercial hemp to be an integral part of the German economy.
European countries such as France, Italy, and Spain have long since implemented commercial hemp as an integral part of their economies. Only a new association was founded, which is still in the process of becoming a registered association.

The contact person & responsible for the hemp association is Mrs. Cynthia Mueller
Mrs. Müller cooperates with the Hemp Shop Mitte and Petra von Cannamoda. The goal is to give commercial hemp the economic framework it deserves. Thus, for example, the hemp jersey (weaving of hemp fibers) is passed on to young people, so that this cultural good is not lost. The hemp association communicated this in a press release. The association “Hemp in the agricultural and textile industry” is currently looking for supporters, new members, and interested people who are enthusiastic about this cause.
The goal of the hemp association is to promote the cultivation, production, processing, and marketing of hemp products, and the association advocates the use of 100% hemp in all phases of production.
Hemp on the skin – a healthy choice
Consumers (to which the association counts itself) want to wear clean and healthy clothes and at the same time encourage the trade to cultivate a clean image. The hemp association’s goal is to use one’s own purchasing power to show companies that production conditions are important.
The vision of the hemp association
The goal of the hemp association is to have all hemp products cultivated, processed, transported, and marketed by certified contractual partners. HaLT is committed to supporting hemp cultivation in Germany and to using the entire hemp plant. Rare or energy-intensive raw materials can thus be protected and replaced.
Compared to cotton, hemp cultivation requires fewer resources and sprays, which leads to a reduction in pollutants and better protection of the environment. Hemp also has excellent clothing physiological properties that affect wearing comfort, skin tolerance, and hygiene and are particularly suitable for allergy sufferers.
The mission of the hemp association
The hemp association wants to protect the environment by offering products made with particularly low CO2 emissions. HaLT is committed to sustainable agriculture and a turnaround in raw materials.
The cultivation of commercial hemp in Germany is monitored by the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food and only certified seeds are used in accordance with the Common Catalogue of Varieties of Agricultural Plant Species.
HaLT is committed to ensuring that “Made in Germany” has a positive influence on the preservation of small handicraft industries and at the same time can contribute to a higher price of the products. The individualism and rarity value of the products is further enhanced by the criterion “Made in Germany”. It is important that industrial hemp becomes an integral part of German agriculture again.
