Prime Mining reports high grades in Los Reyes project in Mexico

Prime Mining Corp company has recently announced that it has mobilized the first two drill rigs at its site in Sinaloa, Mexico. A diamond drilling contract has been awarded to a local contractor. Core drilling begins this week on the Zapote Norte and Zapote Sur-Tahonitas deposits, two of the largest of the eight known gold and silver deposits on the Los Reyes property.

Prime Mining Corp. (TSX.V: PRYM ) (OTCQB: PRMNF ) (Frankfurt: A2PRDW ) announced that the first of at least two drill rigs have been mobilized to the site for the company’s inaugural 10,000 meters (m) diamond drilling program at its 100% owned Los Reyes Gold and Silver Project in Sinaloa, Mexico. In addition, results from the new infill trench at Zapote Norte continue to identify high-grade mineralization that includes a 34.5 m interval of 2.12 grams per ton (“g/t”) gold and 18.8 g/t silver.

Prime Mining’s Chief Executive Officer, Daniel Kunz, commented, “We are pleased to begin drilling at Los Reyes. The results of the trench sampling continue to define the high grade gold and silver mineralization at surface. The Zapote deposits have exceptional gold and silver values in large outcrop areas and drilling there will focus on expanding the resources.

Core drilling begins this week on the Zapote Norte and Zapote Sur-Tahonitas deposits, two of the largest of the eight known gold and silver deposits on the Los Reyes property. Twenty-one initial holes are planned for this area to expand the resource along strike and dip. In addition, drilling will fill areas to increase the measured and indicated resource from inferred data and provide silver analysis data not currently found in portions of the historical reverse circulation drilling data.

A diamond drilling contract has been awarded to a local drilling contractor

Surface rights permits and agreements have been obtained and access to water has been secured. Prime’s teams are preparing drilling rigs and completing a new core logging facility. The one-year road cutting channel sampling and surface trenching program is being completed. At the same time, the geological teams continue with surface mapping and recording of historical drill holes. The historical drilling data, the new surface mapping, and the extensive sampling of surface trenches, dikes, and road cuttings are being integrated to form a robust dataset that will be used to guide the core drilling program and expand the mineral resource estimate.

The logging of several existing diamond drill holes has identified that adularia, a crystalline mineral containing high grade gold and silver, and locally with visible gold, is associated with other nearby altered rock types. Adularia appears to be divided into vertical zones, which may provide a guide to effectively target areas of higher grade gold and silver during drilling.

Expert Francisco Querol, PhD, has conducted a study of the types of alterations

The objective of this study is to determine the specific minerals associated with the hydrothermal system and their relationship to the mineralized structures. The results of the study indicate that kaolinite clay is related to the main mineralization event and can be considered a pioneer of higher grade mineralization locations.

Secondary clays may also serve to indicate a higher grade and include smectite, illite, and montmorillonite. The initial data set was limited in size, so no assumptions about lateral or vertical zoning can currently be made. Data will continue to be collected and analyzed throughout the simulation program.
