The board game publisher Wyrmgold has launched a crowdfunding campaign for the divinely themed board game Believe in me! (please) on the Gamefound platform. From now on, players intrigued by the concept of competing gods can register on the crowdfunding campaign page and secure a place among the first followers.

In Believe in me! (please), two to four players assume the roles of self-proclaimed deities competing for the devotion of gullible mortals. Natural phenomena are claimed as miracles, cults are expanded with temples, relics, and followers, and rival gods are undermined using heretical strategies. The Believe in me! (please) game blends tableau building, hand card management, worker placement, and a hidden trick-taking mechanism. The tone is described as dark humor inspired by Monty Python and Terry Pratchett.

Through Gamefound, a special “Divine Edition” will also be available exclusively. This version includes additional components beyond the standard edition, such as the Mount of Commandments, a dice tower that also functions as a stand for up to five commandments. Believe in me! (please) also features 20 additional believers with five new faces, a velvet pouch, six monument stands for divine expression, and nine new Trinity cards, contributing to more than 1500 unique deities with varied designs.

Creative Origins and Release Plans for Believe in me (please)

Behind the project Believe in me! (please) is a trio of creators with backgrounds in television: Erik Haffner, Cornel Krizsan, and Henneke Holst. They have worked on well-known productions such as Bernd das Brot, Ghosts, Pastewka, and SOKO. Drawing on years of experience in comedic storytelling, timing, and narrative structure, they spent nearly four years developing the game’s mechanics and tone.

According to Haffner, the result is a game filled with humor, interaction, and strategy, where tensions at the table can escalate to the point where long-standing friendships may break down “like dry communion wafers.”

The official release of Believe in me! (please) is scheduled for October 22nd, 2026, in both German and English. Pre-orders are currently available through Gamefound, with delivery planned for the release date or pickup available at SPIEL Essen. A French edition is planned for summer 2027.

In addition, a personality test is available for those who want to explore their divine identity before the game’s release. It consists of nine questions designed to reveal whether a player embodies a chaotic, gentle, or wrathful deity, along with a personalized result.

Finally, the Believe in me! (please) game will be presented at the SPIEL DOCH! fair at Lake Constance in Friedrichshafen from June 20 to 21, 2026. Henneke Holst will be present to demonstrate the game and introduce it to attendees. Wyrmgold Verlag will publish the game, with wider retail availability and direct sales through the publisher’s shop starting in October.
