Music for All: Rossini Philharmonic Launches Inclusive Concert Campaign
The Gioachino Rossini Philharmonic launched the “Music in Places Without Music” crowdfunding campaign on La Rete del Dono to fund concerts in hospitals, care homes, prisons, and communities. Supported by Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pesaro, the initiative aims to bring live music to underserved audiences in Pesaro.
Starting April 15th, the Gioachino Rossini Philharmonic has launched the crowdfunding campaign “Music in Places Without Music,” hosted on the La Rete del Dono platform. The initiative seeks to raise funds to organize a series of concerts in venues where access to live music is often impossible.
The music project is designed for people who, for various subjective or objective reasons, cannot attend traditional cultural spaces such as theaters or concert halls. These include residents of assisted living facilities for the elderly, patients in hospitals, individuals in prisons, and those living in protected communities. These are environments where the opportunity to experience live music is rare, yet the desire and right to enjoy it remain just as strong.
Bringing music and live performances to those who cannot reach the concert hall
Regardless of the circumstances that limit access, the Philharmonic’s goal is simple: to bring music directly to these audiences. Through live performances, the orchestra aims to offer moments of relief, entertainment, and emotional connection through music. Even if only for the duration of a concert, music can provide a temporary escape from difficult situations and create a shared, uplifting experience.
The number of music concerts planned will depend on the success of the three-month crowdfunding campaign. Events are expected to take place in Pesaro and the surrounding area. The initiative is supported and promoted by the Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Pesaro as part of its 2026 Call for Proposals for Cultural Activities.
The Gioachino Rossini Philharmonic encourages the public to contribute to the campaign through simple and accessible donation methods, including a QR code. The aim is to allow regular concertgoers and supporters of the arts to share the experience of live music with those who would otherwise be excluded from it.
Supporters will also be acknowledged through the La Rete del Dono platform, which will offer small tokens of appreciation to donors. The Philharmonic expresses its gratitude in advance to everyone who chooses to participate in the initiative to bring music to those who cannot attent concerts.
Since 2017, Pesaro has held the title of a UNESCO City of Music. This project reflects a commitment to fully honoring that recognition by extending music beyond traditional venues and into places where it is rarely heard, reinforcing the idea that culture should be accessible to all.
